Do-Nut Sponge - The main drying rollers are a 100mm diameter sponge material refered to as a Do-Nut sponge. These are are pushed onto shafts to make up the drying area of the machine.
Weight of the rollers and the lowring of pressure arms on each side of the drier compress the sponge rollers onto drive rollers. It is this pressure which removes surplus water.
Pintle rollers can be fitted before the sponge rollers. Three rubber pintle rollers allow the majority of the water to pass through the rollers allowing the sponge to work more efficiently.
