A CHEAPER WAY OF FILLING BIG BAGS
A new economy model big bag filler, operated by a fork lift truck, is being introduced by Tong Engineering, one of the leading manufacturers of vegetable handling machinery.
The bin is loaded by a box filler or direct from any conveying system. A big bag with a capacity up to 1.2 tonnes is attached to hook holders and with the bin at ground level the ‘bomb door’ in the bottom is opened by operating a handle. As the forklift gradually lifts the bin, the bag fills.
The technique has been used in Scotland for loading seed potatoes into big bags, and is now providing a cheap and efficient way of handling other crops such as ware potatoes, onions or cereals, aggregates or any other free-flowing materials.
Robust in design the big bag filler can be supplied with a rubber covering to avoid damage to produce, or castor wheels for moving without need for a fork lift.
